An officially licensed Metal Gear café has sprung up in Paris serving meals delightfully in conjunction with the theme of the new Metal Gear Solid V, set to launch September 1. Both the exterior and interior are designed to give off the feel of either a really strange bunker or a fisherman’s hut, with a menu to match.
Items such as hot dogs and hamburgers are made far more badass with new monikers as well as accompanying Diamond Dogs flags affixed upon their meal. In case you were hoping for something lighter, Quiet gets a shout out and a salad. If you’re feeling frisky, you can order up a Phantom cocktail that may or may not include the head of the man pictured next to the drink.
A particularly enjoyable feature are the Snake placemat and Diamond Dogs napkins, it adds a classy touch to the entire affair while simultaneously reminding you that your entrée may not have been the best choice for a stealth mission. Although, you have to imagine MREs (meals ready to eat) and/or charred pieces of wild game are a harder sell. The only thing that may disappoint you are the lack of eye patches for diners to wear.
However, if you’re sitting with your finger on the clicker above the confirm button to get your plane ticket to Paris, do so quickly! Your opportunity to dine as a fellow international super stealth soldier is limited to the day of the Phantom Pain’s release the first day of September.
A pick-up Parisian MGS Phantom Pain party, say that three times fast….
This isn’t the first time a video game-themed restaurant has appeared in some random international location, however, one does wonder what other gaming companies may follow suit?
