Ani-Mia has become a household name in the cosplay community. And lately she has been trying to make a difference with the power of her fan base. Rather than worrying about print sales or getting a kickstarter funded she is more concerned with trying to make a difference.
Mia, as we know her as, tries running at least 2-3 charity drives a year and this past Christmas raised over $1,600 and used that to buy and deliver toys for children to a local shelter in DC. This time she decided to put together a charity drive to raise money through selling exclusive prints and auctioning off pieces from the shoot for a Breast Cancer organization.
We asked Mia if there was a specific reason she is targeting saving boobies her response was
One of my mom’s friends is currently battling it and I had an aunt that passed away from it. After careful research, I decided to go with the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. They have a spectacular rating on Charity Watch and work towards aiding in the research side of finding a cure.
It really all came together after a Hello Kitty corset shoot (Created by Castle Corsetry) the idea came up and just developed from there. The designers involved in the shoot have either donated their products/services for the drive or have given large discounts to help. The posters are limited in number and if they all sell before the end of April, that is at least $1,000 going towards the charity. So far, she has already raised $580 in just 10 days. The charity drive ends on April 30th and donations will be entered May 1st.

So that I have enough time to make sure the funds get added to the pool. As for the posters, they are limited in number so they will be sold until they run out or April 30th, whichever comes first.
