I honestly don’t know how to feel about this piece of remake news yet, I mean heck, I’m still trying to come to terms with the new Jungle Book.

Rob Marshall (Chicago, Into The Woods) is set to direct a brand new ‘original’ take on the much beloved Disney classic, Mary Poppins.  The Hollywood Reporter says Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman (Hairspray, Smash) will compose new original songs as well a new score MEANING IT’LL BE A MUSICAL, David Magee (Life of Pi) is board to write the screenplay, and John DeLuca and Marc Platt will be producing.

The only bit of information other than Marshall directing is Variety claiming ‘insiders’ confirming the story of this new film will take place in London roughly 20 years after the original story.

We’ll let you know as more information hits, start the fan-casting now.
