Marvel Studios brought the most anticipated panel to Hall H during San Diego Comic Con 2019, revealing the Disney release slate for Phase 4 across the next two years.

Mixed into the film releases on the timeline where some of the exclusive-to Disney+ streaming series in the works from the House of Mouse and the Kingdom of Kevin Feige.

“Black Widow” [Movie]

Scarlett Johansson will star in the “Black Widow” solo film, directed by Cate Shortland from a script by Jac Schaeffer and Ned Benson. David Harbour, Florence Pugh, O-T Fagbenle, and Rachel Weisz also star. Taskmaster was confirmed to be the big villain. It’ll hit theaters May 1st, 2020.

“The Falcon and The Winter Soldier” [Disney+ Series]

Anthony Mackie and Sebastian stan star in an original series about Cap’s two best buddies, “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.” Daniel Brühl will be returning as Baron Zemo as well! It’ll be streaming exclusively on Disney+ sometime in Fall of 2020.

“The Eternals” [Movie]

“The Eternals” will be directed by Chloe Zhao from a script by Matthew K. Firpo and Ryan Firpo. It’ll star Richard Madden as Ikaris, Kumail Nanjiani as Kingo, Lauren Ridloff as Makkari, Brian Tyree Henry as Phastos, Salma Hayek as Ajak, Lia McHugh as Sprite, Don Lee as Gilgamesh, and Angelina Jolie as Thena. Ridloff will be the first deaf actress (or actor) in the MCU, and will be portraying a deaf superhero. Expect to see this one in theaters on November 6th, 2020.

“Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings” [Movie]

Destin Daniel Cretton directs “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings” from a script by Dave Callaham and Steve Englehart, based on the character and story by Jim Starlin. Simu Liu will star as Shang-Chi, and Tony Chiu-Wai Leung will be The Mandarin (yes, for real this time), with Awkwafina also on cast. This one will hit theaters on February 12th, 2021.

“WandaVision” [Disney+ Series]

There are some interesting tidbits about “WandaVision,” one of the Disney+ streaming series. To start, both Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany are returning as their “Avengers” characters Wanda Maximoff and The Vision. Teyonah Parris will be joining them as Monica Rambeau, grown-up daughter of “Captain Marvel” character Maria Rambeau. The six episode series will be streaming exclusively on Disney+ beginning in Spring 2021.

“Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” [Movie]

Scott Derrickson returns to direct the sequel to “Doctor Strange,” with Benedict Cumberbatch set to return as Steven Strange in “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.” Derrickson said this film will be the first “truly scary” MCU film, and that Elizabeth Olsen will be appearing in it as well, tying it into “WandaVision.” This film hits theaters May 7th, 2021.

“Loki” [Disney+ Series]

Yes, Tom Hiddleston is returning as the God of Mischief in “Loki,” a new original series coming exclusively to Disney+. It’ll reportedly follow what Loki was up to following his younger-self’s disappearance with the Tesseract during “Avengers: Endgame.” Anything is possible! Look for “Loki” on Disney+ in the Spring of 2021.

“What If?” [Disney+ Animated Series]

“What If…?” will be an animated series featuring stories that present alternate realities in the Marvel Universe exclusively on Disney+. The cast, revealed during the SDCC panel, is pretty damn impressive minus some big names (Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans most notably).

Early reports stated that the first entry of this series will center around Peggy Carter and “What If” SHE, instead of Steve Rogers, took the serum and became the super soldier. Expect to see “What If…?” in the summer of 2021.

“Hawkeye” [Disney+ Series]

We were super pleased to see this one confirmed- Jeremy Renner is getting his own series on Disney+ and yes, his Clint Barton Avengers character WILL be training a new Hawkeye, Kate Bishop. No word on who will be playing Kate yet, but look for this one in the Fall of 2021.

“Thor Love and Thunder” [Movie]

There is A LOT to the 4th “Thor” film. First and foremost, YES Taika Waititi is back as writer/director for “Thor: Love and Thunder,” as well as Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson reprising their roles as Thor and Valkryie respectively. If you’ll recall- Valkryie is now the King of Asgard (so named by Thor), and Thomson revealed one of the big parts of this film will be her search for a queen. Apart from that (or maybe what’ll happen BECAUSE of it?) Natalie Portman was brought on stage and announced as returning to the MCU as Jane Foster, who will take on the mantle of Thor!! “Thor 4” will be released on November 5th, 2021.

BUT WAIT, THERE’S MORE!

As the main slate was shown completed, Feige wasn’t done announcing things….

“BLADE” [Movie]

2-time Oscar winner Mahershala Ali will be taking on the mantle of the day-walking vampire “Blade” in a new film from Marvel Studios, which will actually be in Phase 5, not Phase 4.

Right at the end of the panel, Feige title dropped “Black Panther 2,” “Captain Marvel 2,” as well as “Fantastic Four” and a mention of mutants.

All in all, a pretty impressive lineup for Marvel Studios, and we cannot wait to learn more about each project. Which thing are you most excited for?
