Lois Lowry’s bestselling book “The Giver” was required reading in school, and just happened to be a book I loved when I was growing up.  Can’t wait to see how it comes across on the big screen!  Here is the very first trailer for the upcoming film.

Oscar-winning actors Jeff Bridges and Meryl Streep are pitted against each other with Streep as the serious, gray-haired villain Chief Elder, and Bridges as The Giver, counseling newcomer Brenton Thwaites’ character Jonas in the dystopian thriller set in a time after the world is reduced to “sameness.”
