Yesterday, Legendary Pictures and Universal Pictures announced that the full Warcraft movie trailer will debut this Friday, but they got a bit eager and in anticipation decided to debut the first bit of footage in a brief teaser trailer.

I’ve played World of Warcraft since it’s original release and being a fan of the series…was very skeptical of a film adaptation. However this past New York Comic Con brought to my attention that the good people at Weta Digital (Lord of the Rings) will be providing the CGI along with massive scale armor creation and props. That got me excited. This trailer furthers that excitement.

Legendary’s Warcraft is based on Blizzard Entertainment’s massively popular universe and is being directed by Duncan Jones (Source Code). The film was written by Charles Leavitt with a rewrite by Duncan Jones. The film is a Legendary Pictures/Blizzard Entertainment and Atlas Entertainment production.

Playing legendary Alliance characters, the Warcraft movie will feature Dominic Cooper as King Llane Wrynn, Travis Fimmel as Anduin Lothar, Ben Foster as Medivh, Ben Schnetzer as Khadgar, and Ruth Negga as Lady Taria, and FOR THE HORDE is Clancy Brown as Blackhand, Toby Kebbel as Durotan, Robert Kazinsky as Ogrim, and Daniel Wu as Gul’Dan, with Paula Patton’s Garona caught in the middle.

The Warcraft is set to be in theaters on June 10, 2016.
