In the age of reboots, why don’t we reboot something else that doesn’t need to be touched. Yes, Will Smith of all people, is trying to pitch a reboot of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.

According to TvLine Will Smith is leading the charge this time solely as a producer. Overbrook Entertainment, is in the very early stages of developing the new up to date version of the Fresh Prince. They expect to start pitching in the weeks to come.

I can’t see this going over well, yes i get it the 90’s are in, but leave it there. Family Matters, Boy Meets world, Saved by the Bell, were in that era for a reason, it appealed to us, it was us. Modernizing a show with an old name won’t make it that show, the characters who were in it will. Make your show call it something else, and i swear to God if his son is the new “prince” I’ll be needing a new tv.
