Lara Croft is back and sexier than ever in this new adventure for your new gen system. The new game is called, “Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition”. She has definitely made advancements in game history.  This new game is ridiculously crisp on the PS4 and XBox One. The game runs in native 1080p resolution for both consoles.  It’s quite clear that the publisher has polished up the original game release from 2013 and made it look simply amazing.  The PlayStation 4 version supports Remote Play via PlayStation Vita. The Dualshock 4’s light bar changes color depending on game play scenarios. The XBox One’s Kinnect allows players to use voice controls to change weapons/attachments, as well as navigate menus, and change camera angles at some points.

The concept is that Lara Croft and some other adventures have decided to go on an  ship called the  Endurance, with the intention of finding the lost kingdom of Yamata.  During this trip, something happens and the cast including Lara are now on the island they were going to explore. Armed only with raw instincts and the ability to push beyond the limits of human endurance, Lara must fight to unravel the dark history of a forgotten island to escape its relentless hold.

I was very impressed with not only the visuals but also the ability to use Voice Commands.  If I needed to use my gun, I just said “Handgun” into my Mic, and the gun would appear on the ready, same with “Bow” or even “Pause” and “Resume”.  It’s was finally great to play a game where all I had to say was “Show Map” and the map was put in front of me.  I was quite impressed with how smooth the voice commands worked, even sometimes, being a little too sensitive (Someone else in the room talking with me saying something close to a voice command would make my Bow come out or Gun appear).

Another feature in the game is the Multi-Player. I have yet to try this as I’m still in the storyline but it seems interesting to able to play online with your friends in this adventure game.

Based off my ranking I would give this game a 9-10, it is so close to perfect, I would say it’s definitely one of the best if not the best game right now out on new gen that i have played. with tons of missions, hidden temples, and collections of relics, this game also is fun for someone who just wants to play for fun.  My only grip was again, at times, Voice Commands didn’t always work. Other than that, I was taken back by the visuals, the side missions, and the other all fun it was to play this game like the original one was back on PlayStation.

Other than that, I would recommend to my friends to buy this game, give it a play, it’s certainly worth the money. A gritty story about Lara beginning, is exactly what was needed to breathe new life into this series.
