Early this year we mentioned that The Wolf of Wall Street’s actress, Margot Robbie, was up for the lead roll in Ghost in the Shell.  Well now according to Deadline it has been reported that Scarlett Johansson has just been offered that role.  The movie studio leading this project is DreamWorks’  with Rupert Sanders in the director’s chair and a script by William Wheeler. Ghost in the Shell is produced by Ari Arad and Steven Paul and also has the backing of Steven Spielberg.

Robbie who was originally in line for this part is allegedly being targeted to play a role in David Ayer’s Suicide Squad.  Does this have anything to do with why she may no longer be up for this role? Who knows, this is still all rumor mill stuff and nothing is confirmed.
