Jem and The Holograms were a classic 80’s cartoon about a girl, who after her father passed, was left with a record company and a magical computer named synergy. Jem and the Holograms ran from 1985 to 1988 in U.S. first-run syndication. The series is about music company owner Jerrica Benton, her singer alter-ego Jem, her band the Holograms, and their adventures.

The series was a joint collaboration by Hasbro, Marvel Productions and Sunbow Productions, the same team responsible for G.I. Joe and Transformers. The creator of the series, Christy Marx, had also been a staff writer for the aforementioned programs. The animation for most of the episodes was provided by the Japaneseanimation studio Toei Doga (Toei Animation).

The latest film however seems to go completely off coarse and removes everything that made us love the original series.  The new film is no more than a Hannah Montana rip off. This clearly upset a few people and is partically the reason for this parody.  The parody is a play on the idea of what happened to Jem and the Holograms after the cartoon was over? And what if they were not so simple and innocent as everyone remembered them? And instead they were more like every rock band of the 80’s? So join us on this adventure that is Truly Truly outrageous.

Jem and the Holograms Behind the Music Stars some big names like Trisha Hershberger (Sourcefed) as Aja, Jessie Lee (Burning Angel) as Jem, Stephanie Pressman (Buzzfeed and Geek 360) as Kimber, and Janel Smith-McClain (Word of the Nerd) as Shana. The Parody was written and created by Dom Davis, Jenny Lorenzo and Rich Cassidy (Aggressive Comix)
