Writer Derek Connolly, who wrote both Jurassic World and approaching Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, is on board to write Sony’s adaptation of Metal Gear Solid.

Connolly will be partnering with Kong: Skull Island director Jordan Vogt-Roberts and Spider-Man producers Avi and Ari Arad.

“Created by Hideo Kojima, the Konami video game series follows Solid Snake, a retired soldier who infiltrates a nuclear weapons disposal facility to neutralize the terrorist threat from Foxhound, a renegade special forces unit. He attempts to liberate their two hostages, the head of DARPA and the president of a major arms manufacturer, and stops the terrorists from launching a nuclear strike,” summarizes pop culture site comingsoon.net.

Who’s looking forward to this long-awaited film? Do you think it’ll have pay off or leave everyone frustrated with another video game adaptation?
