As we creep closer toward the Blu-ray and DVD release of The Avengers, deleted scenes are slowly but surely hitting the internet to tease our already starving nerd appetite. First we saw the Maria Hill alternate opening hit the net and leaving most of us thankful it hit the cutting room floor. Next up is the star spangled super soldier in a far more tragic loss. Opening with a charmingly propagandized film reel to establish his 40’s roots, it takes a nostalgic twist into melancholic reminiscence that harkens to his early Tales to Suspense issues. Now taken out of his element and thrown into an unfamiliar atmosphere, Captain America must learn what it’s like to become a contemporary civilian. If that didn’t ding your shield, the omitted extra Stan Lee cameo surely will have you screaming “EXCELSIOR!”
