HEY LISTEN!  Great news for all you classic Nintendo gamers, one of our favorite characters just may be getting the greenlight for a live action series!  Netflix already has several original series on their plate, the multi-award winning House Of CardsMarco Polo (already greenlit for a second season), and the upcoming Marvel series AKA Jessica Jones and Daredevil.

This report comes to us from The Wall Street Journal, who state Netflix is in the “very early stages of development” Netflix is said to be working closely with Nintendo, the Japanese game developer that has made about 20 “The Legend of Zelda” games since the original, which was released in the U.S. in 1987.

They go on to state a writer to work on the series is still being sought after, and this theoretical pitch could always be outright turned down.  Variety has some interesting viewpoints on this idea also, stating Netflix will be officially launching its services in Japan this year.  We’ll let you guys know as this story develops.
