It’s 5am in the morning and I’m sitting here in line for Hall H. We’re in compression mode trying to get rid of the space between people and I’ve finally gotten a chance to sit down.

I’m still across the street from the San Diego Convention Center and it’s pretty evident that I’m probably not getting in.

This is my first SDCC and I wondered “how bad can the line be?” The answer is, it’s bad. Really bad. Stupendously fucking bad. I woke up at 3:30am to get down here with the hope that maybe I could sneak in at the back of the line– I know see how goddamn naive I am and there’s no way I’ll be getting a wristband for the first panel.

Scuttlebutt in the line is that yesterday they stopped giving wristbands out at 11pm. They were supposed to stop giving them out around 1am which means one of two things: either they changed their mind when to stop giving out the wristbands or the panel was full by 11pm– on a Thursday.

This bodes ill.

With any luck, I’ll get into the Game of Thrones panel today but odds are, that’s not happening.

So for all you other first timers out here with me who want to get into Hall H on Saturday for the Marvel panel, my advice is, start lining up right now for it. I think that’s more or less what I’m doing at the moment.

Please send food.

Update: 5:41am. I’ll see you in there.
