After that awesome fan made trailer for Power Rangers, a lot of us have been wondering who is going to be in the upcoming feature film and what is the plot going to be. There have been rumors a plenty, and the only real news we have is who the scribes of the script are.  (The team of Ashley E. Miller and Zack Stentz who did Thor and X-Men First Class together.)

According to Heroic Hollywood we might have an answer or at least an idea.

Our villain is rumored to be our Evil Queen Rita Repulsa, sources describe her as

“A huntress. A striking, yet subtly alien-looking woman. She carries a metallic staff topped with a distinctive crescent shape. Advances with a soldier’s confidence, guided by some sort of compass… Her staff is actually a device of immense power. She points it at the ground. Heads emerge, built layer upon layer like 3-D printing, made from the earth itself… The staff’s technology grants her the ability to create humanoid figures, soulless and robotic.”

Sources have said that it takes place during the cretaceous period, on the last day of the dinosaurs on Earth. Rita fights that period’s Power Rangers, led by the Red Ranger, who at that time is no other than our favorite face in a tube,  Zordon. Sources go on to say,

“Though alien, he looks like a man in his 50s. Sinewy and strong, as if carved from some root that refused to die. A being of integrity and iron will.”

So are we to have a somewhat origins story to one our greatest childhood heroes team? What else can we expect for this movie,  it’s not to far fetched to believe that our first rangers were alien, I mean how else would we have fighting robots, teleporters, etc.

We’re definitely looking forward to more details about this film. But just a friendly reminder, these are rumors are nothing concrete, if this is where they are headed so far so good for me.
