NBC’s series based on the Hellblazer comics still isn’t dead yet! The tv show, from David S Goyer, still hasn’t been officially picked up or axed by the network, and that means we still have time to convince NBC/Universal to keep Matt Ryan and company mastering the dark arts on Friday nights via Constantine.
One of Constantine‘s most vocal supporters in the twitter verse, aside from us of course, has been Mr. William Shatner. He, at least once a week since the series ended for it’s first season, has been tweeting to fans urging them to let NBC know how much we want the show to continue.
Starting Friday, all 13 eps of #Constantine will stream on NBC, Hulu & VOD. They are going need VIEWERS to get Season 2. Spread word!

Do you see what he said two days ago? Well, it’s true, NBC *IS* streaming all 13 episodes of Constantine over on their website, as well as Hulu. This is most likely a REALLY good sign, that NBC isn’t fully ready to part with the show yet, as normally they sever all ties pretty completely and act like the show never ended up in their Friday time slot.

Because really, that’s the move that put the show in the most jeopardy, the move to the earlier time slot on Friday. If you look at the viewership analytics, Constantine was pulling in really decent numbers in the target audience range, and the reviews were really positive. The amount of vocal outrage after the author of this Buzzfeed article (which you can read about here) announced the series was definitely canceled led to both the showrunner AND the network publically saying that it wasn’t gone yet, and that there was still hope.
You can even go sign this petition and join the nearly 30,000 other supporters:
David Goyer and myself meeting with NBC on Mon. Make them notice us. We need signatures. http://t.co/mehEIrZxSH #Constantine #Hellblazers

As it stands right now, we have until the end of May before we know if Constantine will be coming back or not, as that is the official end of “order season” for network television. The other thing to keep in mind is even if NBC passes, Hulu and Amazon have both expressed interest in continuing the story. And we’d REALLY like the opportunity to get our hands on Emmy winning composer Bear McCreary‘s score from the show too, NBC, because harpsichords are cool.
So please, PLEASE, if you want the show to return (and we REALLY do) watch it on Friday, tell your friends to watch it on Friday, TWEET about it using #SaveConstantine and tag @NBC @NBCConstantine when you do, and let’s see if we can save our show.
