Ex-Disney star Zendaya has been cast to play a female lead in the upcoming film directed by Jon Watts.

Her character’s name is Michelle but there are no details on who that might actually be except to say that she will not be the romantic interest for Peter Parker. There has been a Michele in the comics, Michele Gonzalez who was a roommate of Peter’s and a lawyer. There is no word on whether this is the character or not, though I could see them using the name and simply rewriting the character.
