While all good Marvel boys and girls were packing theaters to watch Captain America: Civil War, Disney made a quiet announcement. We’ve known for awhile we’d be getting a stand alone Han Solo solo film in the new Star Wars universe, and rumors have abounded as to who would play our favorite Corellian Smuggler in the galaxy far far away.

Deadline announced today that Alden Ehrenreich (Hail, Caesar!)  has entered the final stages of the casting process, stating “Sources say he is negotiating to seal the deal”.  This could very well be true, or it could be sources not knowing all the details and/or jumping the gun.

alden_ehrenreich_jack_reynor_taron_egerton_split Previous forerunners for the coveted pilot seat of the Millennium Falcon included The Kingsmen‘s Targon Egerton and Jack Reynor of the recent Macbeth film, as well as several grassroot attempts to have some unknown youtube personalities considered.

We’ll let you know as SOON as this information is made official. The yet unnamed Star Wars Solo solo film is scheduled to be released on May 25th, 2018.
