ss_f2d87fc20d7b9fe45884c27e8cd17cf7a81b6c6a.1920x1080Today I’m giving you a review on the new game that recently came out called Thief. I’m playing this on the PS4 right now.

So far, I’m not very impressed with the game.  It reminds me a lot of Skyrim but no where near as responsive or fun.

I feel like everything is very planned out for our character.  You spend a lot of time in the shadows, hiding from people who are trying to find you.   The graphics look good, but I expect that in any game that is now in Next Generations.  We have left behind the days of horrible graphics and moved into a world of realism.
I wish we could have told the programmers of this API for this game that, as it seems very glitchy and at times I had to hit a button several times to get a command to work, at one point during the beginning missions, I couldn’t even proceed as I could not get my customer to “hide” correctly as the game was intending me to do.  Simple commands seem to take forever to happen or do not happen at all, even though I hold the buttons or hit them rapidly.

thief_trailer_stills_01_1392897629You as the  player takes the role of Garnett, a master thief in a fantasy/steampunk world resembling a cross between the Late Middle Ages and the Victorian era, with more advanced technologies interspersed. The main tactic of Thief is to avoid fights and instead sneak around the enemies.

I felt it was a weird mix of sneaking like Metal Gear, tied in with the mechanics of Assassin Creed, but with the game engine of Skyrim.  You would think initially that would be an awesome combination, but this game clearly at least to me, did not hit me that well.

Sound, movement, and light play a huge part in this game, but overall, I was bored within the first 20 mins of the game. It just didn’t hit me as a game I would enjoy playing, i will attempt to finish it out, but on first taste, the game seems very bland and boring.  Too slow, even for someone who enjoys RPGs.

I give the game a 6 out of 10, I was not impressed and not even sure that the lure of obtaining trophies for the game is worth the time I could spend playing another title.
