It is a very sad feeling when you find out someone you grew up watching has become severely ill or passes away. It doesn’t matter who you are, everyone growing up in 80’s and 90’s remembers the pizza delivery guy in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2: Secret of the Ooze.

Keno, portrayed by Ernie Reyes Jr., has been battling fatal kidney failure. His sister Destiny Reyes has started a GoFundMe for those that would like to help. Destiny wrote,

“Thank you for taking a moment to see why and how you can make a difference. My brother, Ernie Reyes Jr., was recently in ICU fighting for his life suffering from kidney failure. Ernie is currently undergoing dialysis treatment 3 times per week for 4 hours a day while waiting for a kidney transplant. This is a very challenging time for Ernie Jr.’s immediate family, but challenging time for our family as well.”

 Ernie’s debut role was in Berry Gordy’s The Last Dragon, he also can be seen laying the smack down on the Rock in The Rundown.  To many  he is and will always be Keno, a role he landed after stunt doubling Donatello in the first movie. He and the Turtles were one of the main influences for me in the Martial Arts world, yes there are others, but they have part of the blame for my martial arts and pizza obsession.
