As we always say, never read the comments. That is 200 million times true of this brand new trailer for Paul Feig’s reboot of Ghostbusters. The outrage of many fans seems to have doubled, possibly quadrupled since the first footage released earlier this year, and it doesn’t show any signs of lessening.
Sony thought they had a guaranteed hit on their hands when they first announced this ‘updated’ film with a cast of women playing the iconic ‘buster roles first brought to life by such notables as Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis, and Ernie Hudson. I myself have little or no problems with the characters being ladies, I have a problem with them being poorly written as ladies. True, it’s almost impossible to get a sense of what the actual film is going to be like from these trailers, but you get enough.
Here’s the new trailer:
Ghostbusters stars SNL alum Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, Leslie Jones, and Cecily Strong. We can expect some fantastic cameos, I’m assuming, and we’ll find out when the film opens worldwide on July 15th, 2016.
