Surprising no one, network giant Fox has recently been fueling the fanbases of a possible return of one their most popular series, science fiction/thriller The X Files.
The Hollywood Reporter says Dana Walden and Gary Newman (Fox Television Group chairmen and CEOs) noted that the network has had conversations to revive The X-Files with series creator Chris Carter as well as potentially a limited run of Prison Break.
This conversation seems to have started because of a comment X Files star Gillian Anderson made during her interview with The Nerdist. It’s no secret both Anderson and other series star David Duchovny wanted to revisit their characters in a better way than the HORRIBLE X Files: I Want To Believe film. Seriously, as a really big fan of the show, this movie was so bad I almost walked out of the theater.
Walden stressed that it’s a timing issue with Chris Carter, David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson, who would all have to return to reboot the cult hit.
“We’ve had some conversations on X-Files and we’re hopeful that we’ll bring that back,” Newman told the press. He noted there was nothing that he and Walden could announce at present.
So what do you guys think? Should the series come back, or is it better where they left it? I’m going to go watch season 7 again, because IT’S THE BEST.
