It’s been widely reported that 20th Century Fox’s X-Men franchise was looking at recasting key founding members of the core team. Namely as Bryan Singer has stated a few times, Scott Summers (Cyclops), Ororo Monroe (Storm), and Jean Grey.

The fancasting has been running rampant, and it looks like the forerunning lady being eyed for the crimson locked future Phoenix is none other than Game Of Thrones‘ Sansa Stark, Sophie Turner. She has reportedly screen tested for the role, along with Saoirse Ronan. The other popular ladies mentioned for Jean have been Chloe Moretz, Elle Fanning and Hailee Steinfeld.

Theoretically, these ladies let us know the basic age Jean will be in the film, and it’s more than likely we’ll be seeing her in the original X-Men team uniform, possibly even as Marvel Girl.  I think Sophie would be WONDERFUL.

For the role of Jean’s beau Scott Summers, we’ve seen Taron Egerton, Jamie Blackley, and Tye Sheridan as the newer rumored actors.  The previous gentlemen in the running had been reported as Ben Hardy, Charlie Rowe and Timothee Chalamet.

As far as our wonderful Witch of the weather Storm, Alexandra Shipp and Zendaya Coleman are the two ladies most often mentioned. Shipp recently played Aaliyah in the Lifetime film.

Theoretically, we should be hearing some casting confirmations soon, because filming for X-Men Apocalypse is set to start in April in Montreal.  The film will be released on May 27th, 2016.
