There have been many rumors that Jumanji would be getting the remake treatment, and it sure looks like it’s going to happen.

Specifically, after Sony released their upcoming movie release dates, a familiar name wedged in there on December 25th, 2016. No really, you can read the list here on Variety.  Bad Boys 3 & 4 anyone?

Producer Matt Tolmach said in an interview LAST YEAR with Den Of Geek:  “I hired a very, very good writer called Zach Helm, who wrote Stranger Than Fiction and other things. And we’re working on the script. I’m really excited about it.”

As of now there is no director or stars attached to the film.

*sarcasm* What better way to honor Robin Williams than to remake a great film from most of our childhoods. This is not a sequel but a remake. Only thing that can make this worse is hiring Shia LeDouché and have Michael Bay direct it.
