Netflix has been doing amazing things with their original programming, and it looks like they are delving into history with this next offering.  Marco Polo, starring newcomer Lorenzo Richelmy, the based on the famed explorer’s adventures in Kublai Khan’s court in 13th century China.  We have both a gallery of STUNNING images and the first look trailer for the show.

Marco Polo is a series from John Fusco (Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron) and is executive producer and showrunner along with Dan Minahan (HomelandGame of Thrones). Academy-Award nominated directors Joachim Rønning and Espen Sandberg (Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales) directed the first two hours and serve as executive producers. Marco Polo is produced by Netflix and The Weinstein Company.

Here is the first look at the show, and judging from this, it’ll be incredible.  Look for it on Netflix around December 12th, 2014:
