Phoenix Comic 2017 has become a bigger con year after year. This year, with shock to most in the cosplay community certain events occurred that rippled through cons around the US. If you haven’t heard by now this happened Thursday, as a ”Fan” clearly not right in the head not only was targeting police officers but also Jason David Frank. Luckily for everyone no one got hurt. In action to this incident the Con Prop Ban was established. An inconvenience to a lot of cosplayers, but that didn’t deter mostĀ from having fun and enjoying the con. People adapted making signs or ” mock prop weapons” out of paper or even bananas. Phoenix Comic Con might have opened the eyes to most other cons on uping their security measures and policies.

In an interview after the incident Jason David Frank said,

This incident is an eye-opening situation to increase and add more securities to all Comic-Cons around the world. Due to the increased securities for the duration of the show, we are banning all prop weapons, however, please do not let this hinder your creativity in the festival atmosphere,

All in all, it was a great con and successful. Thanks to everyone for their patience and to the Police officers ensuring Celebrities and fans alike were protected.

Here are some of the folks displaying some awesome cosplays. Stay tuned for an awesome cosplay video coming out soon.
