If you read my review of Sword of the Stars: The Pit, you know I’m a pretty big fan of roguelikes. I dig the idea of real work toward a distant and barely tangible goal, the resource management, and the feeling dread that  comes around every corner.

Enter Darkwood, a rad looking little horror roguelike that is getting back to the core of what horror gaming really needs: atmosphere. You just need to see the trailer below to see for yourself: a game doesn’t need necessarily need great graphics or loud noises to make a great game.

ABOUT >> Ray Allaire
  • ACCOUNT NAME >> The Reasonable Gamer
  • BIO >> Ray tries his best to bring some calm to the conversation, despite the fact that moderate voices are often uninteresting. It is not uncommon to find him at the bar, slightly slurring as he breaks down Star Trek technology between sips of rye whiskey.
